Get Heavendesk

Install it on every machine you want to reach, and on whatever you want to reach them from. Sign in once per machine, turn on sharing, and that is the setup.

Beta · Linux

Linux

One command, on Arch, Fedora, Ubuntu and the distributions built on them. It installs both halves and sets up updates. Sharing stays off until you switch it on.

shell
curl -fsS https://heavendesk.com/install.sh | sh
Also needed
A GPU with H.264 or HEVC encode
kmsgrab capture — Wayland and X11 both work
PipeWire for desktop audio
1

Install on the machine you leave behind

It registers itself and waits. No port forwarding, no static IP.

2

Sign in once

The machine stays paired to your account until you unpair it.

3

Open it from anywhere

Pick the machine from the dashboard and the screen appears.

Advanced

None of this is required. It is here for people who would rather add the repository by hand, or check what they are running before they run it.

Verify the install script yourself

The script is signed with the same key as the packages, so you can check it before running it. Fingerprint 5925 635F E6B6 31D1 5235 5EAA C9CC 07DA B92C 844B. Once your machine trusts that key, a tampered script or a substituted package is refused rather than run — which happens automatically on every update, whether or not you do this by hand.

shell
curl -fsS https://heavendesk.com/arch/heavendesk.asc | gpg --import
curl -fsSO https://heavendesk.com/install.sh
curl -fsSO https://heavendesk.com/install.sh.sig
gpg --verify install.sh.sig install.sh
sh install.sh

Check the Windows download

The Windows installer is not code signed, so there is no certificate to check. A SHA-256 is published instead — compare it with the file you downloaded.

shell
curl.exe -L -o heavendesk-0.1.9-beta-setup.exe https://heavendesk.com/windows/heavendesk-0.1.9-beta-setup.exe
(Get-FileHash .\heavendesk-0.1.9-beta-setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256).Hash.ToLower()

Arch, CachyOS, EndeavourOS

What the one-line installer does, step by step.

shell
curl -fsS https://heavendesk.com/arch/heavendesk.asc -o /tmp/heavendesk.asc
gpg --show-keys --with-fingerprint /tmp/heavendesk.asc
sudo pacman-key --add /tmp/heavendesk.asc
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 5925635FE6B631D152355EAAC9CC07DAB92C844B

sudo pacman -Sy heavendesk heavendesk-server
sudo systemctl enable --now heavendesk-server

Fedora

What the one-line installer does, step by step. Built and verified against Fedora 44. Nothing else to set up: Heavendesk brings its own video encoders, so whether Fedora ships ffmpeg-free makes no difference and there is no RPM Fusion to enable.

shell
curl -fsS https://heavendesk.com/fedora/heavendesk.asc -o /tmp/heavendesk.asc
gpg --show-keys --with-fingerprint /tmp/heavendesk.asc
sudo rpm --import /tmp/heavendesk.asc
sudo tee /etc/yum.repos.d/heavendesk.repo >/dev/null <<'EOF'

metadata_expire=8h
EOF
sudo dnf install heavendesk heavendesk-server
sudo systemctl enable --now heavendesk-server

Ubuntu, KDE neon, Kubuntu, Linux Mint

What the one-line installer does, step by step. Built and verified against Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04, so the distributions based on them work too. Debian itself is not tested yet. There is a separate build per release, and the line below picks the right one from your own /etc/os-release.

shell
curl -fsS https://heavendesk.com/debian/heavendesk.asc -o /tmp/heavendesk.asc
gpg --show-keys --with-fingerprint /tmp/heavendesk.asc
sudo mkdir -p /usr/share/keyrings
gpg --dearmor < /tmp/heavendesk.asc | sudo tee /usr/share/keyrings/heavendesk-archive-keyring.gpg >/dev/null
. /etc/os-release
echo "deb [arch=amd64 signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/heavendesk-archive-keyring.gpg] https://heavendesk.com/debian $UBUNTU_CODENAME main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/heavendesk.list
sudo apt update
sudo apt install heavendesk heavendesk-server
sudo systemctl enable --now heavendesk-server
